Our First Day In Tokyo
So it turns out, Tokyo is a huge hub for vegan restaurants! I was surprised by the amount that I found when searching online for some! On our first day we went to Shinjuku, and amidst all the hustle and bustle we headed for a restaurant called ‘AIN SOPH JOURNEY’. It was super cozy inside, the downstairs was quite small, but the light coming in from the window made for a lovely atmosphere. The food was amazing! The steamed japanese brown rice paired with a light curry and cooked vegetables was so warm and comforting, and the drinks were light and refreshing. The coconut, berry and goji smoothie was especially good, who knew gojis in a smoothie could taste so good!
We realised after we left the restaurant that it was actually right next to one of the biggest parks in Tokyo: Shinjuku national garden! (新宿御苑) The parks in Japan are really something special; I felt so relaxed as soon as we stepped inside, like suddenly being in the Japanese countryside. They had japanese wooden foot-bridges, tea houses, a Taiwan pavilion and even a Greenhouse! (Though we need to go back to see the greenhouse, it’s so big you can’t do everything in one day)
It was all I could have hoped for, for our first day in Tokyo! 🌸
